WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca Recap

May 4, 2026

Salinas, CA

The Aston Martin THOR Team achieved its best result of the 2026 season, finishing eighth at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca this past weekend.

The race began with Gunn behind the wheel, who showed impressive pace by moving up to fifth position before making a scheduled pit stop for a driver change to De Angelis.

The race’s only caution occurred with an hour and a half remaining. Taking advantage of the yellow flag, De Angelis brought the car in for right-side tires and a refuel. As the race entered its final stages, De Angelis made a final pit stop with 55 minutes left on the clock, this time for left-side tires and fuel.

In a dramatic conclusion, De Angelis executed two decisive overtakes in the last 10 minutes, securing an eighth-place finish for the team—their highest of the season so far.
