Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen Recap

June 29, 2026

Watkins Glen, NY

The six-hour round at Watkins Glen International turned into a short day for the No. 23 Aston Martin Valkyrie, with contact on pit exit ending Roman's race well before halfway.

Ross Gunn qualified ninth and ran the opening stint before handing the Valkyrie over to Roman at the second caution, 32 minutes in. Roman ran three laps under yellow before coming back in for a fuel adjustment. Exiting pit lane, he came up on a line of slowed GTD traffic in front of an Acura GTP car with its visibility blocked, and contact with the Acura ended his day for good. The Valkyrie was retired after 21 of 182 laps.

It's a tough one to swallow given the pace the team has shown lately, but these things happen in a pack as tight as GTP this year. The team regroups and looks ahead to Canadian Tire Motorsports Park next.
