Motul Petit Le Mans Recap

October 12, 2025

Atlanta, GA

The Heart of Racing's No. 23 Aston Martin Valkyrie reached new heights over the weekend with a P2 at Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, taking home their first-ever GTP class podium as they wrapped up the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season.

Roman De Angelis was joined by teammates Ross Gunn and Alex Riberas to pilot the Valkyrie for this momentous occasion. Gunn qualified fifth on Friday and took the reins for the first 108 laps in the final, keeping the team in the top five, before handing it over to Riberas and later De Angelis. With only a few stints remaining the team made a bold call that paid off for positioning and De Angelis capitalized on it to confidently bring it home for the team.

With the IMSA season wrapped up, the Aston Martin THOR team looks forward to building on the successes and finale of the 2025 season.

Roman De Angelis : “Wow, first podium for the Aston Martin THOR Valkyrie program. To do it at Petit Le Mans with Ross and Alex is just everything. The three of us went from a GTD PRO podium last year to a GTP podium this year. I’m so happy to be a part of this group. It’s been a tough year with lots of ups and downs, but we’ve really come a long way, and what a good way to end the year. I couldn’t thank everyone enough at The Heart of Racing, Aston Martin, Multimatic, and many other people who are behind the scenes. It’s been an honor. Thank you, Gabe and Ian, for making this possible, such a special day.” - From TheHeartofRacing.com
