De Angelis On The Podium Once Again

March 26, 2024

This past weekend was one for the books for Roman De Angelis and his Panoz racing team. For the second time, this season De Angelis joined Parker Chase in the #51 Panoz Esperante Avezzano for two days of racing at the Pirelli GT4 America SprintX. Race 1 was a battle for the team, but Chase was able to get them into a stable position in the first stint in the car. When De Angelis got behind the wheel with approximately 25 minutes left in the race the team was sitting in second overall, and first in their Silver class. With 7 minutes remaining the car leading the pack had to handle a penalty, allowing De Angelist to take over pole position. Roman held on to that position and finished the race first overall and first in his Silver class, leading the #51 Panoz to celebrations on the podium.Going into Day 2 of racing the team was excited to get back on the track, even though they were starting at the back of the pack. They were doing well and gaining positions in the race. Then after an unfortunate incident with the car, they ended up out of the race, ending the weekend early overall though the team was incredibly happy with their performance and are looking forward to their next race together.De Angelis is hitting the track again next weekend in his Heart of Racing car, and had this to say about this past race weekend; "Awesome to get back on top with Go Panoz Racing and Parker Chase. Race 1 win, and suspension failure in Race 2 after making it from last into the top 12 in a few laps. Strong showing for the Go Panoz boys, onto Mid-Ohio next weekend with the Heart of Racing."
