Roman De Angelis and The Heart of Racing have won the 2022 IMSA Weathertech SportsCar GTD Championship. The team worked hard all race to get the car back on the lead lap fighting through an electrical problem that required a steering wheel change and an incident where they were bumped off track by their closest championship rivals. However, when all was said and done, De Angelis finished the season with a 23-point advantage over Jan Heylen and Ryan Hardwick of the No. 16 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911."I wish I could write down all the names of the people And groups I need to thank, but no one deserves the credit more than The Heart of Racing family. Thank you and best wishes on your future to my amazing teammate and even better friend Maxime Martin for all the great memories, and to Ian, who without I might not have been in a car, let alone an IMSA champion."It has been a fantastic season for the #27 car and the Heart of Racing team, showing their resiliency and determination to come back from a slow start to claim their first championship.
