Chevrolet Grand Prix Recap

July 13, 2025

Bowmanville, Ontario

Roman De Angelis and the No. 27 Heart of Racing Vantage secured a 5th place finish at the Chevrolet Grand Prix, part of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada.

The weekend was a great success despite some minor setbacks from the outset. First, there was an equipment issue as the transporter neared the Canadian border, but the community stepped up and pieced together what was needed for the practice session. During the second practice session, there was an incident with the car causing a red flag, and the team again worked tirelessly to prepare the car for qualifying on Saturday.

Roman’s teammate, Casper Stevenson, was able to qualify in fourth and maintain the position throughout his drive in the final. De Angelis took the reins and made a pit stop with an hour remaining which saw him fall to sixth, and with 30 minutes to go he was setting the fastest laps in the field until a caution slowed the field. With one green flag lap and 15 minutes remaining the race ended under caution.

“It was a good top five for my first time back in the Vantage since Daytona,” said De Angelis. “The No. 27 team is fighting for a championship so it was really important to not only get a clean finish, but to gain some points in the process. It’s a shame we couldn’t beat the No. 57 today, we just didn’t have the pace that they did. I was happy to be back with No. 27 crew, they did a great job putting the car back together after our incident in the second practice session.”

Roman and The Heart of Racing Aston Martin Valkyrie are headed to Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indianapolis, IN for the TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks, part of the IMSA Weathertech Sportswear Championship, on September 21.
